Security Installation Engineer

 

Overview

To carry out CCTV, Intruder, Access and intercom Installations of varying value from customer acceptance to Handover/training. Reporting to the Installation team leader to successfully deliver projects through to completion on time and on budget.

  • Overseeing works carried out by junior engineers
  • Quality and compliance control.
  • Ensuring compliance to H&S on RDS sites

Expected Deliverables

  • Producing As Fitted documents
  • Providing Customer systems Training

  • Fully complete all paperwork/time sheets/electronic mail in a timely manner
  • Make recommendations for additions/replacements to improve customers’ existing systems and feed this information back to the Company.
  • Provide accurate information to enable quotations to be prepared for the customer

Required Qualifications and experience

Min 5 years’ experience in a similar role

CSCS/ECS, Asbestos Awareness, IPAF, First Aid (Training available)

Working knowledge of commonly used systems to facilitate successful planning, installation, handover and training.

Must be an experienced installer who is able to commission.

Ability to manage own workload.

Location and travel requirements

RDS Operate throughout the South of England. Engineers are provided with a vehicle of suitable size and fuel card.

Remuneration range and benefits available

Salary: negotiable, depending on experience. Up to £38,000.00 /year

OTE 45-50K
40 hours a week. Hours are flexible to suit business needs but generally day working. Occasional night work will be required notified in advance.
Overtime available – opportunity to earn more if desired.
Travel time paid after 30 min each way
25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays.
Company Laptop provided.
Company Phone or phone allowance.
Van + fuel card.

Service and Small works Fire Engineer

Overview

To service and fault find both Fire Alarm and AOV systems as necessary.

To carry out small works of varying values gaining customer acceptance of the works and providing training where required. The role will predominately require product knowledge of Fire Alarms, AOV systems and extinguishers would be a bonus.

Expected Deliverables

Engineering

  • Able to service and maintain Fire Alarm and AOV systems of various sizes and complexity.
  •  Ensure that the appropriate spares, consumables and test equipment required to complete assigned tasks are available on the company vehicle provided.
  • Accurate and efficient fault reporting
  • To be an active member of the on-call team
  • At the completion of each visit close or update the RDS system with the call status and relevant associated documents.
  • Working under own initiative
  • Providing Customer systems Training

Administration

  • Provide good quality written details of activities completed at customers’ sites.
  • Report any site left non-operational following a site visit
  • Fully complete all paperwork/time sheets/electronic mail in a timely manner

Sales

FIA Foundation in FD&A / FIA Maintenance Unit or Equivalent

Full Driving Licence

Working knowledge of MS Office specifically Excel.

Salary: negotiable, depending on experience. £33,000 – £35,000 year. OTE 40-42K
40 hours a week.08:00-16:30

Occasional night work may be required notified in advance.

Fire and Security Sales Estimator

Overview

Due to the number of enquires coming into the business for fire and security projects including maintenance we are recruiting for an estimator with a good knowledge of F&S systems.

The core element of this role will be to complete tenders and estimates for various new and existing clients and so it will require a good knowledge of the design of Fire alarms, CCTV, Intruder alarms, Access Control and intercom systems.

We are looking for someone who is commercially astute, a good communicator and team player that will work closely with the directors, managers and engineers to facilitate delivery of projects especially at receipt of order stage ensuring smooth handover from Sales to Operations.

This could suit an engineer with the right skill set looking to come off of the tools.

The role will also include an element of account management and sales from an upselling and cross selling basis. You will be encouraged to look out for opportunities with new and existing clients but will not be targeted on sales.

This will be the first dedicated estimating role within our business and so a level of flexibility is required. We have a desire to develop a sales team and thus there are opportunities for progression in this area for the right people.

Expected Deliverables

  • To identify and develop up selling and cross selling opportunities with existing clients for fire alarms, intruder alarms, access control/intercom and CCTV systems.
  • Help to build relationships with key people on our in house accounts to maximise opportunity with other disciplines
  • Following up on quotes as needed or over 30 days
  • Understanding of all of our offerings
  • Understanding of our Culture for H&S & Quality and core values
  • Sales to operation handover meetings
  • Compiling full tender packages. Design, specs, drawings, technical submissions etc
  • Working alongside Directors to develop new business

Required Qualifications and experience

Knowledge of various Fire and Security systems

Ability to manage own workload, work independently and as part of a team.

Location and travel requirements

RDS Operate throughout the South of England.

You may be required to travel throughout this area to carry out your duties.
